Call for Proposal The Soós Ernő Water Technology Research and Development Center Nagykanizsa announces the

Soós Ernő Young Researchers Award

as a scientific grant for MSc and PhD candidates. Application theses are kindly welcomed for submission from the field of water and wastewater treatment and related disciplines both in Hungarian and English languages.

The Award is disclosed in two categories:

• Master’s (MSc) or undivided 5-year long cycle studies,
• PhD studies.

The best applications will be evaluated by a scientific committee in both categories. Granted applicants are going to be rewarded by a diploma and a prize on the annually organized scientific conference named ‘Soós Ernő International Scientific Conference, Water and wastewater treatment in the industry’. Prize in MSc category is up to net 300 EUR and in PhD category is net 600 EUR. As a further honor, the awarded applicants are going to be invited for presenting their work in the plenary section at the Soós Ernő International Scientific Conference and they are also going to have the possibility for publishing an article in the peer- reviewed Hungarian scientific journal called “Hungarian Journal of Industry and Chemistry” (HJIC).

For successful submission, applicants need to fulfil the following criterias:

• the thesis or dissertation defense has to be fulfilled between August 1, 2024 – July 31, 2026
• on the date of the application submission the applicants’ age has to be less than 35 years.

As a submission procedure the applicant has to submit the following documents:

The following documents are necessary only digitally:

• Summary of the thesis at least 4 pages long (to publish in the Hungarian Journal of Industry and Chemistry journal) compliance with the formal requirements of the journal
• Application form
• Recommendation of the supervisor
• Official opponents’ judgement of the thesis/dissertation
• Scientific resume
• List of publications and their offprints
• List of independent citations
• Word template for HJIC article
• HJIC Guide for Authors.

The deadline for application submission is 30. September, 2026.

Announcement of results as well as the summary of the awarded applications will be available on the website. Awarded applicants will also be informed by post.
